Welcome to the 2013 Sole Challenge

The Sole Challenge 24 hour race will be a premier running event hosted by The Runner’s Sole running specialty store.

CASH PRIZES HAVE JUST BEEN ADDED!! TOP 3 PLACES M/F FOR EACH EVENT!! Must have at least 8 runners for each event for the cash awards in both male/female categories. CASH AWARDS WILL ONLY BE HONORED FOR THE 24 HOUR MEN & FEMALE EVENT DUE TO LOW REGISTRANTS FOR THE 12 & 6 HOUR EVENTS.

Race Director, Rick Meyers, is an ultrarunner who has completed multiple marathons, ultras, 24 & multi-day races.

Assistant RD, Danny Mowers, is a trail ultrarunner who has won quite a few races.

Assistant RD, Ron Kelly, is a marathoner with many finishes and top places within his age group.

Race Doctors: Mike Connor, M.D., is an emergency room physician who also was team USA 24 hour physician for 2012's worlds championship. Mike is also an ultrarunner who has completed multiple JFK's & marathons.

Lazlo Madaras, M.D., is an internalist. Lazlo is also an ultra-marathoner having completed 10 JFK's and multiple marathons and triathlons.

Also, on-site massage therapists for runners needing a muscle rub down during the event.

Friday night pre-race meal has been changed to a more exciting event! Scott Jurek will be in town for a guest speaking engagement. Hosted by The Runner's Sole specialty running shop, Scott will give an inspirational talk about his life as an Ultrarunning Guru. After the talk, Scott will autograph books for attendees. Talk will be held at Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA. Attendance is free for 24 hour registered runners, however, $30 for 12 hr & 6 hr registered runners, or $35.00 for non-runners. Hors D'oeuvres will be served during the talk. The course is a 1.547mile (USATFCert#13-08-054) loop on an 8ft wide asphalt path winding around the park. Norlo park offers family and spectators a plethora of attractions that include: a kids train ride, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, basketball courts, two dog parks, baseball fields, soccer fields and more. There are multiple parking lots and large fields for RV’s & campers for the weekend at no additional charge. A fully stocked aid station will offer runner’s fare including vegan and vegetarian foods.
